I have been very much affected by the events that have been happening here in ארצינו הקדושה. Starting with the kidnapping of Gilad, Eyal, and Naftali HY"D, and then escalating into a war which we felt and heard with our own ears, my thoughts have been pre-occupied and I didn't really have a heart to blog. With countless mothers R"L burying their boys, how could I blog about the narishkeit that goes on in my household?
You shouldn't think that I haven't been the regular, upbeat, fun Mommy that I try to be. B"H I tried my best, despite my inner turmoil, to give the kids all the love and positive energy they are used to. And I've been snapping pictures and taking videos, which I intend to share with you soon, all the while. But to blog about the silly stuff going on at home, right after sitting down and reading the terrible news updates each evening, just seemed so incongruent.
As the IDF has pulled its final troops out of Gaza, and has sent 30,000 reservists back home, I think it is appropriate for me too, to switch gears (especially since summer vacation has begun!) I am going to do my best to recreate some of the cute moments that we've had over here, and I am sure you will enjoy them.
I was hoping to see you all in person by now, as I was sure that all this fighting was going to culminate in the coming of משיח- and IY"H that will happen very soon. But until then, the pictures and anecdotes will just have to suffice.
I'm going to blog with the actual dates, which means that this post will be a "sticky" post on top - so make sure to scroll down to see the latest posting!

Perhaps you would like to know that your "narashkeit" is someone else's chizuk. Sharing and treasuring the mundane everyday events of your family -- especially those involving the children -- brings hope and joy in an otherwise imperfect world that lately seems full of tragedy and grief and sadness. Following your family life vicariously through the blog gives my life added optimism and joy. And when I am chutz la'aretz, your blog brings me closer to where my heart resides always.
