Its been a while since I sat down to blog and I see I still have some old pictures I haven't posted....my twins have B"H moved on to bigger and better (?) but figured you'd still enjoy seeing these pics!

If the twins could talk (they are starting to talk, B"H, but they're not up to real conversation yet) I can just imagine what Yehuda Leib would have been saying...

"Okay, Hillel, I'm going to climb up the chair and open the door handle.  You grab the door and keep it open, and then I'll climb down and we'll make the great escape together.  But move fast, we don't want Mommy to catch us, or all the fun will be over!"

Double Trouble

Hi everyone!

Ever since after our cousin, Saadya, posted on his Mommy's blog about some of the trouble he makes, we've been CHALISHING to share some our great trouble tips...only our Mommy seems to be too busy to ever blog about us (do you think maybe if we'd tone down the trouble-making a bit, she'd blog more?!)  Well, FINALLY one morning, we took a good long nap, hoping we'd give her some time to blog about us...we're so excited to be in the limelight!

Here's some of the mischief we've been up to lately...we recommend our other little cousins to try some of these things out, although it may not be as fun if you're on your own...we love each other's company- it makes trouble making even MORE exciting!

• Make a beeline for the pantry whenever Mommy forgets to close the child-lock.  This is especially fun right after she's gone shopping and put away all the groceries!  And if you work together, you can empty the shelves out at record speed!

• If Mommy DID remember to close the child-lock on the pantry, check around the other fun spots in the kitchen- she's bound to have forgotten something!  One day we had a really fun time emptying out the cabinet with all the foil pans- we made a whole concert, baking them and crinkling them- but Mommy must've not liked our taste in music, since she didn't seem too pleased!

• This one was REALLY fun.  We got our hands on the basket full of baking supplies one morning whlie Mommy was busy cooking, and we emptied it out (of course).  Then we found these really small bottles of paint (Mommy called it food coloring) and we had so much fun painting each other!  What was really funny is that when Mommy tried washing us off, there was just tons of yellow water, filling up the whole bathtub!  Eventually, though, it did go away :(

 

There's tons more that we do, but Mommy hasn't been so good about taking pictures lately, so that's all we can show you for now.  But we'll do our best to keep making more trouble, and maybe if our Mommy is better about pulling out the camera, we'll have more to share with you soon!

Troublemaker in Training

The other morning I caught Hillel pulling out wipes from the package- he's not as fast as his older brother, but no worry, with a bit more practice I'm sure he'll do a spectacular job!

And since I don't want anyone telling me its not fair to post about one twin and not the other, here's a silly picture of Yehuda Leib that I took the same morning.  Isn't he YUM?

I've got lots to update you on, but I just couldn't resist posting this picture, hot off the press....stay tuned for more!

We were up bright and early this morning to head out to our new Rokach cousin's bris, and we decided it would be a great idea to bathe the kids before dressing them, figuring that they'd be all dressed for Shabbos when we got home.

It WAS a great idea...except that we hadn't checked the weather forecast.  With unusually hot weather the past week, it would have never dawned on me that it might rain today...but that's exactly what happened.  As the bus pulled into Beitar on our return trip, it was pouring rain- and the looks of glee on my boy's faces should have given me a hint of what they had in mind.  I got off the bus and told them to make a mad dash towards the house- but they were enamored with a huge puddle next to the bus stop.  I just couldn't tear them away...they were having so much fun!

So now they're back in the bath, and hopefully I'll manage to dig up some dry clothes for them for Shabbos!

Mazal tov to everyone on the birth of Shmuel Eliyahu- may we see only nachas and bracha from him and all his family!

Caught red-handed!

(I just found this post in my drafts folder- I wrote it a while ago but must have had to stop in the middle and never actually posted it...enjoy!)

B"H our home is a happy one, but we do try to set some rules to maintain safety and to prevent damage.  Among them are:

1.  Don't pick up the babies without permission, they are not dolls
2.  Don't play with Mommy's baby carrier, it is not a toy
3.  Don't play with Mommy's camera, it is not a toy

Well apparently my angelic children, who never violate their mother's word on purpose, must have had a temporary lapse of memory one afternoon while a high school girl was watching them while I napped (Ahem- I'll be דן לכף זכות that she was busy holding Yehuda Leib and couldn't stop them fast enough).  B"H no harm was done to an of the above items (#1 being the most important!) - I only found out days later, when I was looking through the pictures on my camera, when I found the following incriminating photos:

Never a dull moment!

Thanks to "Anonymousquito" for her excuse, which was right on the mark!  But I figured I'd just check in and let you know a bit about some of the adventures which have been keeping me away from the computer....

• Trying to explain to the kids that you can't just take eggs straight out of the fridge and eat them (and cleaning up after the subsequent mess!)
  
  
  

(Thankfully they "ate" their eggs outside!)

• Cleaning up after a silly sibling decided to dress Naftali in their underwear, which he promptly soiled in a matter of minutes!
  (No picture of that one!)

• The kids had lots of fun one afternoon with the "sidewalk chalk" they found- coals leftover from the neighbor's BBQ!
  
  
  

• Playing with a ladybug- and making sure that everyone has a chance to hold it! (ever wonder why in general, kids are scared of bugs, but a ladybug is so thrilling?)

I've got tons more to blog about, but the house is too quiet...so I'd better go run and see what my crew is up to!

פרעה's Decree Re-enacted

Today the kids were playing "מצרים" (playing house is just too docile for my lively bunch) - they each put a shmatta on their head (nowadays Egypt is an Arabic country, but I don't know if the מצריים were Arabs- and even if they were, I somehow doubt they wore khafias!) and were walking around telling each other to work.  They looked like they were having fun, and it seemed pretty harmless (relatively) so I tried to quickly put some supper together while they were keeping themselves occupied.

Suddenly, I hear them saying, "let's throw him into the יאור!" - I quickly spun around and saw Yisrael, Bruria, and AS carrying Nissim (who was B"H strapped into his rocker) towards the rug, which I guess they decided was the יאור. 

I quickly put that part of the game to a stop- if you want to play מצרים, that's fine with me, as long as you don't use my precious, delicate baby as a prop!

Color on your skin instead! It washes right off (well, after much scrubbing in the bath...) and can be reused again and again!

Putting things in perspective

I was talking to someone recently, who commented on how much they enjoy my blog. I said that I love it too- its a great way to hold onto memories- I already enjoy looking back and seeing all the cute stories and anecdotes!

But beyond that, I've found that the blog helps me see things in the right perspective. I am always on the lookout for good blog material- so I make sure to make mental notes of cute things that happen!

Here's one case:

A few weeks ago, I was upstairs changing the baby when I heard crashing noises. It sounded like silverware hitting the stone floor- Azriel Shraga enjoys doing that sometimes. But the noise didn't stop...so I ran downstairs, and saw the following mess


Yikes! Instead of just throwing down the fleishig silverware, my darling children had emptied out every last piece of silverware in the house! Milchig, fleishig, Shabbos... plus all my parve utensils too!

Of course my first instinct was to scream at them...but then, before I did, the following thought popped into my mind- "this would make a real funny blog post....and you know what, in a few years, you'll just look back at it and laugh...so why get upset!" So of course I ran to get my camera, and the kids looked at me a bit puzzled..."Mommy, we're not getting a punishment?!"

So thank you, my dear readers, for helping me maintain a positive perspective!

My kids dont make trouble ?!?!?

Apparently, two of my sisters (who shall remain nameless) recently had a conversation about how my kids don't make trouble the way another child (who shall also remain nameless) does!

Well, I just want to inform them that they are COMPLETELY mistaken....

Bruria's newest hairstyling technique

(Don't worry, all you faint-hearted readers out there- this one isn't as gross as the last technique she came up with!)

I was getting the kids ready for bed, and ran downstairs to get Bruria's blanket (she is very attached to it, and is always shlepping it around the house- any advice how to wean her??)

I came back up and heard Bruria and Azriel Shraga laughing their heads off- which is a sure sign that they were up to no good. I came into the room and found Bruria with the hair gel- she had TONS of it on her hands, and was smearing it into Azriel Shraga's hair- he loved it! The two of them were having a great time and were pretty upset that I broke up the party!
