Naftali "says" No!

(He's a true Yunger...even as a baby, he won't let himself get talked into something if he doesn't want it!)

Chocolate Chip Therapy

In case you haven't heard of Chocolate Chip Therapy before- its an amazing homeopathic remedy which unleashes tremendous healing powers. Here's how it works:

Upon getting a boo-boo (only non-bleeding), you give your child a chocolate chip (or any other small candy that you have around- winkies or chocolate lentils also work). Tell him/her to press the chocolate chip against the boo-boo, and to continue holding it there until the boo-boo stops hurting. Once the boo-boo stops hurting, they can eat the candy (make it clear that once they eat it, they cannot complain about the boo-boo anymore). You will be amazed at how fast they feel better!

My children have even started to tell me, "Mommy, I have a chocolate chip boo-boo!"

Bruria's first updo

Our neighbor, Devora, is taking a hairstyling chug (after school activity) - and today she decided to practice the new techniques she's learning on Bruria! I was surprised to see how nicely Bruria sat...I don't think I've EVER seen her sit in one place for so long! She loved looking at herself in the mirror (takes after her mother!) and when her hair was finished, she waltzed around as if she was royalty (well, she is the princess of the Yunger Dynasty!)

This one is for you, Chana Raizel!

Chana Raizel made a special request- she said that in all the pictures I take of the kids, they are always smiling and happy. She wanted to see what Bruria looks like when she cries so here it is! (it wasn't too hard to find a moment to take this shot, she's got plenty of crying moments!)

Flying High!

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day- sunny, yet cool, with a great breeze. I decided it was just too nice to stay inside, and I figured we might as well really enjoy ourselves- so the kids and I got on a bus and went to one of the biggest, nicest parks in Beitar. We took along our kites and had fun trying to fly them- we did manage to get one kite up (although not for long!) but the other one was not behaving so well. Then they both got all tangled up...B"H I was able to get out all the knots! I think 4 kids, 2 kites and 1 parent is not such a great combination- next time we'll have to bring Tatty too, and we might have better results!

Azriel Shraga's new hairstyle

Menucha started putting Meir Mordechai's hair into 'pig tails' (I actually started to call them 'bunches', like they are called in England- I like the sound of that much better!) - his hair stays much neater that way. So I decided to start doing that for Azriel Shraga too- and I really like it! Its much cuter, and not nearly as messy!

Look alikes

I keep getting comments on how Naftali looks SO much like Yisrael (he really does!) so I decided to take a look at pictures when Yisrael was a baby....

There is defninitely a very strong resemblance!

Brotherly Love

One morning last week, after the older kids went to gan, I gave Azriel Shraga a lollypop (no, this one wasn't fragile). He was overjoyed, and happily ran off to eat it. A few minutes later, I hear Naftali laughing...so I turned around, and saw this:

Naftali was thrilled- he was smiling from ear to ear, blue mouth and all!

A Vocabulary Lesson

I decided its time to up the vocabulary level in this house- there's too many fragmented sentences and misused phrases going around...and I think Bentzi and I are starting to catch it!

For example, when something is fragile, we always call it "breaky" (the kids started it, and we started using it as well!) Well I finally decided that enough is enough, Yisrael is old enough to use the word 'fragile' - so I taught him the word, and then we started thinking of things that are fragile...and what did he come up with?! LOLLYPOPS!

Cute Quote: Too much crying

(a chorus of screaming children in the background)

Bruria: Mommy, please make Yisrael stop crying!
Me: Why? Is it bothering you?
Bruria: No, but I want you to hear ME crying!

Busy Mama = Bad Blogger

I have been ignoring my blog lately, since life has b"h been very busy. It looks like things are starting to settle down (except that school finishes soon...) so I'll try to take a few minutes to tell you about what's been going on recently.

As if having 4 kids ka"h and a job isn't enough to keep me busy, I got myself involved (read: in charge) of a fundraiser for Bentzi's yeshiva. (The Yeshiva is, understandably, having a hard time economically- anyone interested in helping out, please contact me!) Anyways, we decided to do a big yard sale to raise money- we collected tons of clothes, toys, housewares, etc. and organized it all. We got a ton of stuff and it was a big job, but B"H we were able to raise over 15,000 shekel!

And this all started while Bentzi was in America (his mother is BE"H getting re-married in August and he went in to meet the Chosson) - I am just one of those people who loves to be overloaded, I guess! (just don't look at the state of my house right now...)

In any case, the last night of the sale was this past Monday, and I am almost done with the loose ends, so now I've got a few minutes to blog.

Enjoy!

Bruria's new bed?!?!

Bruria is famous for being able to fall asleep anywhere...even in the window!
