Snow day #2 (but this time we actually had snow!)

Yes, we had snow! It was only about an inch and a half, and was all melted by 11 AM, but we did manage to make a little snowman! Yisrael had a blast in the snow- he kept making piles of snow and jumping in them. Bruria was enthralled with the fluffy white stuff UNTIL she touched it- but was hysterical once she discovered that it was cold and wet!

Here's a few pictures to enjoy! (Don't you just love the snow on the palm tree behind Bruria? Not something you see every day! )

Cholent!

I know, I really should be cleaning up (see previous post), but I just had to post this.

You won't believe what I gave Azriel Shraga for supper (except that its the title of this blog!)- he LOVED it. He ate it for lunch today too, he couldn't get enough (is is bad to give him leftover cholent on Wednesday? I guess we'll find out!)

Well hopefully it'll knock him out like it does to the rest of us on Shabbos afternoon- I could really use some quiet after the hectic day we've had today!

Snowless Snow Day

Somehow once you're a mommy, its not as much fun when they cancel school because of the snow. (Especially since by us, there was no snow- although I heard that there were a few flakes in the top of Beitar!)

So we were all cooped up inside today, trying to keep busy. We had gan with "Morah Mommy" (Yisrael kept going to the door to see when she would come!), made a mess, baked hot pretzels, made a mess, ate lunch, made a mess, went to the neighbors for a bit, then made another mess....you get the idea.

I know that its a bracha to have all this rain (and hail and sleet and snow?) and that we really need the water in Eretz Yisrael, but I really hope that tomorrow is a nice sunny day!

Well now that everyone (except Azriel Shraga) is in bed (finally!) I really should get away from the computer and clean up all those messes!

Yisrael saying "Asher Yatzar"

Yisrael really says it quite beautifully- and like a real Israeli, too. He can say אשר יצר almost completely by heart, except that he often repeats או יסתם אחד מהם a few times until he realizes...

But of course as soon as I try to tape him, he refuses to cooperate (I know, its not good Chinuch, but I wanted to share my Yiddishe nachas!) Oh well, maybe next time!

Did you catch some Hebrew there? He's really starting to learn!

Kids dancing and singing "Ata Sakum"

One of our favorite afternoon activities is to dance. Either we turn on the "La La" (translation: music), or else we make our own! Here's Yisrael singing "אתה תקום"- so cute! Bruria's trying to sing too, but she doesn't know the words- so she's making them up!

Welcome!

Well I've decided to start blogging about my kids. This way, I can post all my musings, anecdotes, videos, and the like, in one place for all of us to enjoy!

I'm doing this for myself too- so that I'll have something to look back to- I have no time to make scrapbooks or to keep a journal, so this will be it!

Let's see how it goes!

Enjoy!
